G2-Star Racing Visit

In 2007 BFM flew to LA then across to Atlanta Geogia then hired a car and drove 2 and a half hours south for a G2-Star Racing visit.  Located in Americus Georgia is one of Americas best race shops. STAR RACING.   In 1980 George and his wife, Jackie Bryce founded Star Racing and in the  thirty two years since have positioned the business as a premier motorcycle racing and R&D facility, with engine building, machine shop services, four dynos, a Spintron, CNC machine and a highly successful mail-order parts business.  Among other things, George is team coach and head tuner. To date  has won six NHRA national championships and 78 event wins as a rider, owner, or crew chief in 149 final rounds of competition.

G2 was a partnership between George Bryce and Georga Smith of S&S Cycle. This partnership saw the development of the NHRA BUELL Pro Stock Race Motorcycle and the 145 Tribute 46th motorcycle which was the first Street Pro Race Bike in the 8 second bracket. The S&S Pro Stock billet engine is a 160 cubic inch pushrod engine in a 60º V-Twin configuration. The engine configuration is legal for competition in the NHRA Pro Stock and AHDRA Pro Gas divisions. Star Racing /G2 have developed the 120, 133 and 139 Street Pro motors, and the 126 short stroke S&S motor. Star Racing have recently developed the all new billet MonStar 4 valve head for use on 4 cylinder Pro Stock Motor Cycles and a wicked XR styled dual injected S&S 145 cubic inch monster which develops 209 rear wheel horse power – this thing is crazy fast!

On my G2-Star Racing visit, Shop manager Derek Chruchwell, took time out from his very busy schedule to take me on a fully escorted, access all areas tour of this incredible facility. All of the staff are very polite, well manered, friendly and very good at their jobs.  Quality workman ship is evident in all areas of the business, whether you need parts, engine work, modifications to your existing road bike or  want to have the shop build you a complete road bike or a NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle.  When you want to go real fast call Derek !
