Petrie Cruise Night

Every Friday the Petrie Cruise Night is held at Old Petrie Town Historic Village. BFM attend most of these evenings either on our H-D street bikes or in our Pontiac Firebird. The village has a great atmosphere with bitumen roads lined with classic cars and motorcycles parked in front of historic buildings from Petrie’s past. These now house businesses like the Emporium Milk Bar & Rock’N’Roll Cafe, The Old Chooks Bake House which has the largest wood fired pizza oven in the southern hemisphere, The Ole Lolley Shop, Concrete Creations – Water Features and Tin Signs, plus many market type shops selling gifts, clothes and food. The Cafe Racer club “59 Club” meets here each week along with numerous H-D and classic motorcycle owners. Car clubs attending include the Classic Car Club, Resurrected Relics, Graffitti Hot Rods, Northern District Rodders and the Kustom & Modified Street Machines.

Classic 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music and movies are screened on an outdoor screen, while burgers, fries, pizza, sodas and spiders are all consumed. Families bring children to stroll through the classic vehicles on display, hot rodders tell lies and everyone has a good time. No bad attitudes are allowed! You never know who will turn up or with what vehicle from week to week. On a good night you will see 45 to 50 motorcycles and 50 to 60 cars. So if you are on the northside on a Friday evening between 5PM and 9PM looking for somewhere to go, cruise by and check it out. Being an outdoor event it does depend on fine weather, so keep this in mind.

One evening last year we even had a display of S&S products, drag bikes and the Brisbane entrant in the Australian S&S TV Biker Build Off Competition and recently aired TV show, Andrew Erwin from Choppazilla, with his TV bike and a screening of the TV Biker Build Off Show. New York born, Andrew, who has also worked in the custom bike scene in Germany,  was kept busy signing autographs, explaining his custom S&S 124 powered bike and showing a portfolio of his work.
