Sturgis Motorcycle Museum SD

The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum SD, is a fantastic site to visit if you are ever in Sturgis South Dakota. Located in the famous Black Hills region which is home to the Lakota Indians, Crazy Horse Monument, Mount Rushmore and the massive motorcycle rally held every August. BFM were fortunate to visit in February when crowds were non existant and we had the whole place to ourselves with friend Stephen Laffey.

Many Indian motorcycles are presented as Sturgis was always an Indian town, (in the heart of real Indian country) thanks to local legend and Indian Dealer Pappy Hoyle (and wife Pearl) who are remembered as the founders of the Sturgis Races and Rally that has grown into the largest motorcycle rally in the world. The Jack Pine Gypsies Club, which the Hoyles were members of, (named after a pine tree which only grows in this region) started the races and still operate a hill climb and flat track meeting during the rally.

We hope you enjoy seeing the wonderful machines on display. This is only a small section of the displays in the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum SD, two level museum.
