Welcome to our very first newsletter! Bolam Family Motorsports provides a unique marketing service with its transport vehicles, Harley-Davidson Motor Cycle Drag Race Team, H-D, Indian, Triumph and BSA Customs, Choppers, Cafe Racers, Dirt Trackers and Restored Classic Motorcycles. We travel across South East QLD attending Drag Race Meetings, Car & Motorcycle Shows, Bike Rallies and Events plus Swap Meets. We are a family who are very passionate about the sport of motorcycling and helping it's related business companies. The South East QLD region has a population of over 3 million people. Almost everyone attending an event likes to look at a display featuring H-D motorcycles. We work tirelessly to project a professional image as we represent and promote a number of US based V-Twin Manufacturers, along with our local V-Twin Industry business partners. Since September 2011 we have held trade displays at 11 shows, raced at 6 drag meets and carried out 190 Dealer visits.

BFM have been chosen to represent the leading US manufacturer of V-Twin Performance products—S&S Cycle in Australia. We promote their great range of parts and motors at events, shows, swap meets, drag racing and with personal visits to the V-Twin Dealer Network in South East QLD. We offer Sales and Customer Support to Distributors, Dealers and end users. We have personally used S&S products since 1986 in our own race, restored and street motor cycles. Neal visited S&S Cycle HQ in 2006 and was trained in engine building and VFI (variable fuel injection) to “Pro Tuning” level, helped on the S&S Customer Advisory Council and regularly attends their Tech Seminars at the V-Twin Expo held in Cincinnati. Neal helped create the S&S Authorized Dealer Network in Aus and bring tech training and accreditation to Aus V-Twin Dealers. We are proud and honored to represent this great US company. Each year in October the largest All Bike Swap Meet in Australia is held in the Gatton Show Grounds. BFM regularly attend this event as it brings enthusiasts from all over Australia together. This year we held a trade display and gave out over 200 S&S Cycle CD catalogues, sales sheets, decals and coolers. We spoke to over 250 enthusiasts and gave countless Gear Drive Cam displays, answered hundreds of tech questions, product enquiries and referred numerous customers to their closest S&S Dealer. We also supported CRANE & Flat Head Power. BFM were featured in the August 2012 issue of AMD—American Motorcycle Dealer– the V-Twin Industry Trade Publication that is distributed around the world. Owner Robin Bradley detailed our deal with S&S Cycle in his new column, “The Bradley Report”. He also released details of a planned column to be written by Neal with V-Twin Industry News from Australia to be included in AMD on an irregular interval. This will be dependant upon magazine space and relevant news items from Down Under. Neal was responsible for bringing Robin and the AMD Pro Show World Championship of Custom Bike Building to Australia in 2008 for a round at the 10th Anniversary Gold Coast Bike Week.

The H-D – BUELL Drag Series Rd 5 was sadly rained out and cancelled before it even started. Another date cannot be found to rerun the final round so the organizers have called the points and winners as they stand. BFM racers Neal and Joanne have taken out third and fourth places respectively. Neal finished 4 points behind the winner David Haine and only 1 point behind the second place rider Marg Wedge, despite not being able to contest the H-D – BUELL Drag Series Rd 5. Joanne riding her Sportster 1200cc / 74ci was only 1 point behind Neal. A total of 47 riders competed in this years series and Neal riding his Buell Thunderbolt S3, was the highest placed Buell racer. Joanne was the highest placed Sportster. racer in the 2012 series. A new show for 2012 was held at the little country town of Mt Alford in the Scenic Rim Shire of South East QLD. Organized by Harry of Harry’s Custom Bikework, the show ran as part of the Ned Kelly Rally. BFM attended and held a trade display for our marketing partners. Harry did a fine job for a first time event, drawing plenty of older bikes and offering lots of cool awards. The area offers great riding thru scenic country on quiet back roads. Look for the 2013 event! BFM are pleased to announce they launched their new website in August 2012. Steady progress has been made since then with over 25 photo galleries, regular BLOG posts detailing each months activities and information on each of our Marketing Partners. This info covers their products, website links and news. You will also find drag race results, points scores, a profile on the BFM Race Team and lots of information on motoring events in South East QLD.
